This is my 200th post. Holler.
Still in New York. Killing time before heading over to Lincoln Center to see South Pacific. And tonight--Patti Lupone in Gypsy. Double holler.
Last night. What a story. So we get to New York--we being me and two friends--at about 5:30 p.m. And we're all, oh we'll just get a cheap hotel room for the night. No joke--no hotel rooms in Manhattan. And so we're freaking. And then we call a hostel, and homeboy over there is all, come over now and we can get you set up. Sweet. Except that it's 6:55 p.m., and THANK GOD someone thought to look at our theater tickets to see what time the show was at. Don't worry, it was at 7.
So we go see the show--Passing Strange, more badass on a third visit--and we still have no clue where we're staying. The hostel guy is pissed that we didn't come right away, so he won't give us a room. So we hit up the internet at some random hotel, and we find a place on the Upper West Side for--wait for it--$430. We book it and head over to the hotel.
We get to the hotel, and homeboy at the front desk is all, no more checking in. Find someplace else. And we're all, shit.
Anyway, long story short, that guy ended up hooking us up with a SWEET room--bedroom, kitchen, bathroom--the whole deal--and we had a fantastic time. We danced in the West Village and smoked the hooka until 4:30 this morning. I love this city.
I need coffee. And sleep.
